This film looks at the aspirations for the new £21 million mental health Hartley Hospital in Southport, Merseyside, at a time of much activity during its Phase 1 of the development in early 2019. Phase 2 followed and was due for Phase 2 completion early in 2020, however due to unforeseen delays and the challenges of the pandemic from spring onwards, construction was delayed and was finally completed in December 2020.
This was a remarkable achievement given the challenges the whole health service and construction industry has faced in 2020. This film looks at the completion of Phase 1 and looks forward to Phase 2, however the timelines in the film have since changed.
The vision however has not changed - it is an opportunity to deliver better services and provide a great place to work at Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust.
