Last minute efforts are being made in Washington to prevent a shutdown of the U.S. government... before a deadline of midnight, local time.
Speaking after an hour-long private meeting with President Trump, the leader of the Democrats in the Senate, Chuck Schumer, said some progress had been made to avert a shutdown.
Democrats are insisting the spending bill contain measure to address the future of the so-called "Dreamers," hundreds of thousands of undocumented young immigrants.
