With 3D laser scanners like the Trimble X7 you can capture the geometry of pretty much everything. We show how using Geomagic Wrap you can convert that raw scan data into a 3D CAD model so it can be used by CNC machines or 3D printers for re-manufacture or prototyping. In this video, we scanned a Beech tree and converted the tree's trunk into a 3D CAD model suitable for machine cutting operations in forestry applications.
