Ordered 6 yards of clear crush (3/4") from Lyons Landscaping in Kamloops.
The was significant dust included and needed to be screened again. Big problem when you're using it for drainage rock and weed control.
I build this ratty dry screen with mostly parts from around the house and from other projects.
For those that like building stuff:
Vibrator: 200lbs rated, 12v dc, 13amp max, 7.5amp normal, 4000rpm.
10amp rated dial. will cut out on start up if at full power. (yes I know it's under rated)
15amp toogle on/off switch.
600w computer PSU (Power Supply Unit) modified it to run motor. Followed wiring instruction on side of box and youtube vids.
Screen 1/2" mesh from Home Hardware ($12) for 2ft x 5ft roll (garden mesh)
Screen is 3ft long x 22inch wide.
40 degree screen angle.
Used styrofoam washers and construction screws to set screen. 1inch angle iron as motor frame
rear frame legs were set at 4ft tall. I'm 6'6", so it was my max comfort loading height.
Safety Gear:
Dust Mask. If I were using this more than once, I'd definitely want a dust mask. Thought about it a few times, but the wind blew most of the dust away from me.
Ear protection. It's loud, I wore ear plugs. You can't see them with sun hat. I use Sony wired earbuds. don't use noise cancelling, because prolonged use damages your inner ear. These are equivilant to basic ear plugs and they play music.
Gloves. A good set of leather gloves is strongly suggested. I used the Holmes brand leathers. They come in a 2 pack from costco. I usually buy the bulk bag of gloves with the dark blue cuffs.
Eye protection. The glasses are 10 year old Oakley M2 military spec. Any safety glasses will do, thats just what I have. On cloudy days I use the clear lense. I wish Oakley still made these, I'd buy replacement lenses.
Hat. Outdoor Research sun hat, (for runners?) It's 10 years old, still works. I use it a lot.
I'm probably forgetting something, oh well. :)
