I have always wanted to be a vegan, and I tried very hard for 4 years to make it happen. Eventually, I had to admit that I couldn’t do it. Despite eating a lot of vegan protein sources, my body was slowly failing me. Constant fatigue and headaches, no energy, unregulated insulin levels, and uncontrollable acne were all part of my picture. And of course, once I started to eat meat again my health started to noticeably improve.
Can you be vegan and clear your skin at the same time? For some people, this is a resounding yes. For others, it may be difficult. It is an individual, personal thing and the most important thing is to tap into your intuition, be honest with yourself, and feed yourself a diet that makes you feel good. For some that is a vegan diet, for others, it includes a bit of animal protein. And there is absolutely no shame in consuming organic, sustainable animal protein. It can make a huge difference in your health and your skin.
Consider adding animal protein if you are:
1. Having difficulty controlling blood sugar and insulin
2. Low in B12 but supplements cause acne
3. Low energy and headaches
Are you vegan or non-vegan? Have you found one to feel better in your body than another?
