With the unexpected successful release of Disney’s Chip and Dale: Rescue Rangers, it seems pretty likely that we can expect the chipmunk duo to return in a sequel. After hitting Disney+ in May, the film gained an outpour of positive reviews from fans and critics alike, with many praising the story, witty humor, and brilliant character performances and appearances.
During an interview with Collider, director Akiva Schaffer, who you may know as 1 part of the group Lonely Island, said that he’s open to a sequel, although he’s not sure what it would entail. Here are our 5 pitches for Chip and Dale: Rescue Rangers 2.

NEWS ABOUT THE PROJECT 📰
Kicking us off at Number 5, The Storyline. Chip and Dale; Rescue Rangers acts as a nod to its successor, the 1988 Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Which also takes the audience on a detective mission in search of missing toons.
At number 4, More Cameos. There's no hiding from the current trend of cinematic universes merging together, with films like Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness bringing together characters from different realms of media onto one screen, Chip and Dale did the same.
Coming in at our number 3 spot is, More Lonely Island Humour (in PG fashion of course) If you’re over the age of 30, you probably spent your childhood afternoons with Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers on your TV screens.
At number 2, A Who framed Rodger Rabbit crossover. Chip and Dale didn't only take inspiration from the 1989 Rescue Rangers cartoon series, but also from the 1988 classic Who Framed Roger Rabbit. The Robert Zemeckis movie was truly incredible for its time, pulling off cinema magic in creating a world that takes the audience into a world where cartoon creatures, humans, and everything in between co-exist.
At number 1, A new villain - Oswald the lucky rabbit. Did you know that before the iconic Mickey Mouse, there was his predecessor, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit? A young Walt Disney created the character but didn't own the rights, Universal did, and eventually, disputes led Disney to break away from the character, leading him to create the Disney mascot we all know today, Mickey Mouse.
