Diana Ratsamee is a collector, community organizer and DJ. Her weekly KEXP show, Eastern Echoes, highlights the music and history of Asia and the Asian diaspora.
As a community organizer in Seattle's International Chinatown District, she play a key role in bringing the community together through events like the CID Block Party and their neighborhood listening parties. Beyond the airwaves, she is also a co-founder of the SEA Vinyl Society (www.seavinylsociety.com) a collective of AANHPI DJs committed to collecting, preserving, and sharing rare and treasured records from the Asian diaspora.
This set is a groove-laced journey through international pop, fusion and city pop. Blending the nostalgic vibes of city pop with the dynamic energy of fusion and experimental pop, this set creates a unique soundscape that transcends borders. Each record was carefully selected from a personal crate featuring AANHPI and femme musicians.
