A Saint Paul man with a criminal history is now charged in a violent home invasion in Brooklyn Park.
Darryl Swope is charged with first degree burglary. He and another suspect are accused of storming into a townhome with semi-automatic handguns.
The incident happened at about 9 p.m. Monday at the Meadows townhome complex in the 6000 block of 83rd Parkway. According to the criminal complaint, a male victim says Swope repeatedly punched him, before he offered up his wallet.
The criminal complaint says three adults and three children were inside the home. A 911 dispatcher advisers that a female could be heard screaming inside.
Police eventually spotted Swope walking through nearby yards. They say the violent robbery was not a random crime. Swope does have a previous felony burglary conviction.
