The switch door switch in my mother's 2012 Honda Pilot essentially broke.Symptoms of this could include the key-in-ignition chime not sounding, the dome lights/door light not coming on when the driver door is open (even if the mode switch is set to "door"), the automatic relocking function of the keyless entry system causing the doors to lock even if the driver door is opened, issues with automatic headlights etc.The biggest issue with this would be the inadvertent locking of the doors when the keys are in the ignition (as the car's BCM 'thinks' the driver door is closed) or the automatic lights not shutting off after the car is parked (as they stay on for an indeterminate amount of time until the driver door is opened). This was only slightly harder than I expected, and the part was $8 or so on Amazon.
This should be applicable to any model years between 2012-2015. I would assume no difference for the pre-refresh (2009) model, but I haven't done this on one of those, so I am only speculating.
As always, there is no warranty implied, I assume no liability.
