The lower-priced variants now feature a 44.928 kWh blade battery, offering a range of 420 kilometers, while the highest-priced variant comes with a 60.48 kWh battery, boosting the range to 520 kilometers.
Performance-wise, the three lower-priced variants retain the same powertrain as the previous edition, with a 70 kW motor delivering 180 Nm of torque, capable of accelerating from 0 to 50 km/h in 3.9 seconds. The top variant, however, gets a power boost with a 150 kW motor and 310 Nm of torque, achieving the same speed in just 3.5 seconds.
While the Dolphin was one of BYD's best-selling models in 2023, its sales have slowed down this year, with 10,860 units sold in June, a 65% drop year-on-year. Despite this, BYD continues to dominate the NEV market, selling a record 341,658 vehicles in June 2024, including 145,179 battery electric vehicles. With these updates, the 2025 BYD Dolphin aims to regain its momentum in the competitive EV market.
