If you are visiting Alaska in 2022 or 2023, you will be impacted by the landslide that wiped out the road around mile marker 45. If you book a land and sea cruisetour to Alaska with Holland America Line, check with your travel advisor if the tundra wilderness tour is included. Our 2023 group trip includes this tundra wilderness tour. We get picked up from our hotel (likely the McKinley Chalet Resort), in our upgraded school bus with a trained guide.
You will have a chance to see moose, bear, caribou, dall sheep, wolves, golden eagles, and arctic squirrels. Only 10% of visitors get to see the peak of Denali but you still get to experience the vast wilderness of Denali National Park on this tour.
If you are going independently, you can buy your own narrated bus tickets here: [ Ссылка ] We recommend buying these as soon as you know your dates. The tour is about 5.5 hours total.

ALASKA GROUP TRIP, JULY 2023
Join our group trip starting in Fairbanks, Alaska. We will explore the "Golden Heart" of Alaska and then head south to Denali National Park, the crown jewel of Alaska. Ride the scenic train south to join our cruise ship for more adventure, glacier viewing, and all the seafood you can eat!
ITINERARY:
Plan to fly to Fairbanks, Alaska on July 18 to account for potential flight or luggage delays. This will give you the day of the 19th to start adjusting to the time difference (4 hours behind Eastern time). We can plan some optional excursions on the 19th, such as visits to the Museum of the North, Chena Hot Springs, North Pole Village, Pioneer Park, Gold Dredge, or even an Arctic Circle flightseeing tour.
July 20th we will take an old stern paddlewheel boat along the Chena River before heading about 3 hours south to Denali. We will stay in a lodge just a few minutes away from Denali National Park entrance.
On July 21, we will take a 5.5-hour guided bus tour as far as possible into the park (Mile 43 due to a landslide). You will have some free time after the tour to hike, relax at the lodge by the fire pit, do some shopping, or take some additional excursions.
Next up on July 22 we will ride the scenic train south to Anchorage. Everyone gets an assigned seat on the large dome rail car to watch the mountains, rivers, and even small towns go by. We will spend the night in Anchorage so you can explore the downtown area by trolley or on foot.
On July 23 we will take a ride to the port of Whittier to join our cruise ship that will be our home base for the next 7 days. We will have two scenic days at sea to relax and view Hubbard Glacier and see Glacier Bay National Park.
Our port stops will be full days at Skagway, Juneau, and Ketchikan where there are lots of opportunities to wander around or take part in excursions to get closer to glaciers, go fishing, rafting, and lots more.
We will leave the ship on July 30th in Vancouver, Canada.
