This railway was originally a standard gauge line, but after closure the route was chosen in 1976 as the location for a new “Museum’ metre gauge railway to bring the once numerous meter-gauge French railways back to life. Locomotives and carriages have been rescued from other French metre-gauge lines. A lot of work is still needed to comlete this railway and more rolling stock will be required.
