There are no direct trains from Cork to Waterford, but there does appear to be a lovely road along the coast of you catch one of the Expressway coaches. So I pushed my natural dislike for buses to the very bottom of my bag and decided to give it a go!
It turns out that the modern VDL buses on the route provide a really comfortable and smooth service and I actually enjoyed the ride a lot.
...now all I have to do is work out where the light switch for the on-bus toilet is...
