1️⃣ Can your employer change your job during a recession? - 0:27
• Your employer doesn't have the right or ability to make significant changes to your job (pay, hours of work, duties) due to a recession or economic turmoil.
2️⃣ Fired due to recession - 1:35
• Your employer can fire you or let you go during a recession, but they must pay you full severance pay - as much as 24 months' pay - if that happens.
3️⃣ How a recession impacts severance pay - 2:30
• An employer can't avoid paying full severance in a termination just because the company is negatively impacted by a bad economy. Severance packages may actually be greater if it is harder for a fired individual to find new work.
