Hi viewer...
Again as in the previous 2 videos, this layout has 5 independent lines
Line 1 (long interior) -- 4 trains two signals to sync
Line 2 (long interior) -- 6 trains two signals and two interchange sections
Line 3 (medium size outside lower part) -- 6 trains 4 signals and one interchange section
Line 4 (small outside higher part) 2 trains one signal to sync
Line 5 (small outside higher part) 2 trains one signal to sync
Each line has catenary to balance the speed of two halfs of machines. The electric are fed by the catenary and one rail, and the steam and diesel are fed by the two rails.
This way it is possible to synchronise the trains by keeping the speeds similar.
The interior passenger cars lights are leds with capacitors to keep the flicking down.
Most of the locomotives have high luminosity white leds in the front and red low luminosity in the back.
The signals are actually relays hfd2 005 m l2 d. The relays are triggered by magnetic reed switches. The locos have 5mm square by 1mm high magnets to activate the reed switches. This combination has an incredibly small failure rate.
As you can imagine, this is not trying to imitate any kind of reality. I just find it an amazing hobby. Check this out from rovmineu. Its a virtualization of the layout :)
