This crochet hat is for boys and girls between 2-5 years old but you can easily crochet this beanie hat smaller or bigger by using standard size measurements provided below. Just remember these sizes are not exact they are based on standard sizes and since not all children are the same size. Also tension varies from person to person which can affect the final size. Standard Hat Measurements in INCHES:
NB circumference 13-14in / total height 5.5in
0-3M circumference 14-15in / total height 6in
3-6M circumference 15-16in / total height 6.25
6-9M circumference 16-17in / total height 6.75in
9-12M circumference 17-18in / total height 7in
1-2Y circumference 18-19in / total height 7.25in
2-5Y circumference 19-20in / total height 7.75in
5-10Y circumference 20-21in / total height 8.25in
Teen/Small Adults circumference 21-22in / total height 8.75in
Medium Adults circumference 22-23in / total height 9.25in
Large Adults circumference 23-24in / total height 9.75in

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:
Make the brim in multiples of 2. The brim is stretchy so stretch it a bit then measure for your size. First row of HDC needs to be in an odd number so add an extra stitch at the end of the first row. Crochet the hat until you have 1.5 to 2in left from total height. Reduction rows are the same for all sizes.

Hat = 77g of Aran yarn for 2-5yrs size ( I used Stylecraft Special Aran in silver #1203 (54g) and Paintbox Aran in light blue # 231 (23g) and a 5mm hook (Yarnology brand from Hobby Lobby)
