Jimmy Staig's green bobber started out as a 1954 Triumph Thunderbird that he’d owned for around seven years. It was his daily ride and was the bike that introduced him to many of the other builders in Victoria’s vintage and custom bike scene. It was the bike he used to get around on while he built his other projects, but reworking the Thunderbird was always on the books. Then when the invitation came to display a vehicle at the Boogaloo Invitational he had the excuse he needed to get it done. Jimmy’s happy to admit he’s a big fan of the builds by Small City Cycles’ Todd Asin and the influence is clear with this bike. With Todd’s work in the back of his mind and a solid deadline to work towards he got cracking...
