President Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to officiate the repatriation and restitution homecoming ceremony of South African freedom fighters who passed away in Zambia and Zimbabwe during the Apartheid era.
The remains of over 40 struggle heroes who were repatriated back to South Africa are expected to arrive at Freedom Park Heritage Site.
Part A of their homecoming ceremony is now under way - and entailed multi-faith rituals. Part B will involve several government officials - with the President set to deliver an address. Today's ceremony forms part of Heritage Month and is being observed under the theme "Celebrating the Lives of Our Heroes and Heroines Who Laid Down Their Lives for Our Freedom".
The families of some of the late freedom fighers are in attendance - with many hoping the gathering will help them find closure. Let's take you live to Freedom Park in Pretoria where all the proceedings are taking place
