Opening speech of the minister of the Economy Franz Fayot at the "Luxembourg-GAIA-X Conference"


Following the first GAIA-X conference held in October 2020, “GAIA-X: EU’s most important digital aspiration in a generation”, “Cloud Community Europe-Luxembourg” (CCEL), “FEDIL, the Voice of the Luxembourg’s Industry”, “ICT-Luxembourg, the Luxembourg Digital Alliance” and “Luxinnovation, the National Agency for Innovation and Research” organised the “Luxembourg GAIA-X Conference” on 25th March 2021.


In his speech, the minister highlighted that:
▶️ GAIA-X is the first step towards the European Federated cloud, further paving the way to a European trusted data ecosystem, with competitive data-driven services and applications
▶️ Joining the GAIA-X initiative is a great opportunity for Luxembourg: for companies, for research organisations but also for the entire Luxembourg economy
▶️ Luxembourg wants to play a major role in GAIA-X and is therefore launching a regional hub in Luxembourg, whose work will be coordinated by Luxinnovation, the national innovation agency
