(7 Oct 2016) Ukrainian government troops and Russian-backed rebels have started to withdraw their forces from the Donetsk region in eastern Ukraine.
On Friday, both sides withdrew from the contact line between the villages of Bohdanivka and Petrivske.
Monitors from the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe were seen verifying the process as flares were fired from both sides as a signal for withdrawal.
The process is expected to complete with disengagement of forces and equipment from the contact line in Stanytsia Luhanska on Sunday.
