Financing the Future: Funding Resilient Infrastructure in Response to Climate Change
December 12, 2019
This workshop covers adaptation infrastructure funding opportunities for local jurisdictions and other agencies, including tax increment financing. Topics include:
• What kind of fiscal impacts on our local budgets can we expect from climate change?
• What is resilient infrastructure in an era of climate change?
• How can we integrate the impacts of climate change into local CIP planning and funding?
• Where can we go for funding?
• How can we work together?
This workshop is presented as part of the outreach for SCAG’s Regional Climate Adaptation Planning Framework (CAPF). The CAPF is a study that looks at how Southern California can work together to plan and prepare for the impacts of sea level rise, more frequent and damaging wildfires, severe weather events, and other climate-related impacts. SCAG is working with local municipalities and stakeholders to identify positive messaging and strategies, engage in a dialogue, and provide planning tools for climate adaptation.
