Part 1: Testing of the M3 mapping system and confirmation of SAGE CH4 Sensor operation. Low altitude passes for SAGE and visual observation.
Part 2: Characterize the environments, water, fauna, sediments and rocks of Limari Canyon. Evaluate habitat types and distribution, use by surrounding deep-sea biota including commercial fish, debris (e.g., fishing gear). This canyon has never been explored before, and we will be on the lookout for methane seeps.
