Pico Duarte is the highest peak in all the Caribbean (3087m). You get there via the city of Jarabacoa. Make sure to spend some days in Jarabacoa too, as it is a really nice town. If xou are an experienced hiker, 2 days are certainly enough. The 3 day tour is very relaxed and I only recommend it if you go in a groupe. There is neither Wifi nor a bathroom at the camp. The tour should cost not more than 300$!
If you love nature and hikes - this is your place. In the beginning I thought it was too unnatural but the Pico really surprised me positively.
