Sciatica VS Plantar Fasciitis, How to Diagnose!
.
❌ Sciatica has been mistaken for plantar fasciitis more than you may realize. Many people will have pain in their foot, and they are always told it is plantar fasciitis but you would be surprised how many online clients I have had that were told they had plantar fasciitis (but wasn’t improving) and it ended up being sciatic nerve pain! Don’t be fooled in thinking the location of the pain is the location of the problem, foot pain does not mean plantar fasciitis, especially if you also have low back symptoms!
.
🔑 The key here is for you to determine if your “plantar fasciitis” may actually be misdiagnosed sciatica! I don’t want you living with these issues for years so let’s go through the initial stages of a proper assessment to see what we can find! Of course we may need much more in depth testing but this is something you can do on your own. Do not let the location of the pain fool you! It’s time to get better so try out the testing sequence shown! Send me a DM if you are ready to get rid of low back issues the right way and work together as a team. Now let’s fix your low back!
.
1️⃣ See if doing the nerve tension test shown increases the symptoms in the foot. If it does, it’s probably not plantar fasciitis!
.
2️⃣ If you can’t tell with the first test, then identify a movement that does trigger the foot pain.
.
3️⃣ Now perform 10 cobras.
.
4️⃣ Now re-test that exact same movement that triggered the foot pain and see if it improved! If it did, it’s not plantar fasciitis! You need a proper plan to address the low back and sciatica nerve! Visit the link in my bio so we can work together on this and resolve it the right way!
