Unlike a smoothie, this Blueberry Milkshake recipe does not use yoghurt. I’ve kept this recipe super simple using only milk as our primary liquid, along with ice cubes for the water component. Keep in mind that Blueberries already contain lots of water so we don’t need to add too much liquid. I’ve also omitted ice cream from this Blueberry Milkshake recipe to keep it as healthy and simple as possible. Instead of adding vanilla ice cream, I’ve simply added a little bit of vanilla essence or extract to provide lots of flavour, without the extra sugar and fat.
With this quick and easy Blueberry Milkshake recipe, you’ll be able to enjoy the proven health benefits of this small, yet powerful berry. Did you know that blueberries are rich in fibre, vitamin C, vitamin K and manganese? Since blueberries are mostly water, they are also extremely low in calories. In addition, blueberries are thought to contain one of the highest concentration of antioxidants, which have anti-aging benefits and may even help in preventing certain types of cancer. Overall, this Blueberry Milkshake is a very easy and tasty way to enjoy this super healthy fruit.
If you’re a vegan or lactose-intolerant, you can substitute the milk in this recipe with your favourite dairy-free beverage. I suggest almond milk since we’re already adding almonds to the Blueberry Milkshake but oat milk also works very well.

Blueberry Milkshake Ingredients:
Blueberries - 1 cup, fresh or frozen
Sugar - 1 tsp
Salt - 1/8 tsp, or a pinch
Vanilla Essence or Extract - 1/4 tsp
12-15 Almonds + for garnish
2-4 Ice Cubes
Milk - 1 cup
Mint Leaf - For garnish
