To cook "Ginisang Upo na may Sardinas" or sautéed bottle gourd with sardines, follow these simple steps:👇👇👇👇👇
Ingredients:
- 1 medium-sized bottle gourd (upo), peeled and sliced into bite-sized pieces
- 1 can of sardines in tomato sauce
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooking oil
- 1 cup of water
- Optional: chili flakes or chili peppers for added heat
Instructions:
1. Heat cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant and lightly golden brown.
2. Add chopped onions , garlic and cook until translucent.
3. Pour in the canned sardines and 1 cup of water,Break up the sardines gently with a spoon and mix well with the other ingredients.
4. Add the sliced bottle gourd (upo) to the pan. Stir and sauté for a few minutes until the upo starts to soften slightly.
5. Season the mixture with magic sarap and pepper according to your taste preference. If you like it spicy, you can add chili flakes or chopped chili peppers at this point.
6. Cover the pan and let the mixture simmer for about 10-15 minutes, or until the bottle gourd is fully cooked and tender.
7. Once the upo is cooked, taste and adjust the seasoning if needed.
8. Serve hot with steamed rice and enjoy your delicious Ginisang Upo na may Sardinas!😋
