Chinchero Cusco Peru
Traditional Inca town 19 miles from Cusco city. Near the village stands the 18,140 feet Chicón, a glacier-capped peak with a summit that offers sweeping views of the landscape, punctuated by the Vilcabamba range.
The name Chinchero means AGRESIVE MEN and is unique for its colonial buildings and its past as an important agricultural center during the Tahuantinsuyo epoch.
CHINCHERO main square holds an enormous Inca wall and ten trapezoidal shaped alcoves in good condition that house is town's traditional market, where people still exchanging goods by bartering system.
