Gloves are very important in the Frozen animation, and here's why. Both Hans and Elsa wear gloves, each for significant reasons.

Elsa wears gloves because she once hurt her little sister Anna. Her father gave her a pair of gloves and told her that they could help her hide her powers. In fact, if you look at the scene where Elsa escapes, you can see that her powers are active even though she is wearing shoes. This suggests that the gloves suppress not Elsa's powers, but the person she truly is. Elsa realizes this when she escapes from people and builds her own castle. She overcomes this by taking off her gloves, allowing herself to act freely and embrace who she really is.

This also applies to Hans. If you look carefully throughout the movie, Hans only takes off his gloves in the scene where he reveals his true and evil intentions to Anna. This detail signifies that gloves in Frozen symbolize the suppression of one's true self, and their removal represents a character revealing their true nature.
