This video is all about the Khecheopalri Lake Pelling Sightseeing guide.
Khechi and Palri or Khechipedi Lake ( খেচিপেরি লেক, পেলিং, সিকিম ) are one of the most interesting sightseeing destinations in West Sikkim. The lake is located in the village of Khechiperi, about 147 kilometres west of Gangtok and 34 kilometres to the northwest of Pelling town in the West district of the Northeastern Indian state of Sikkim. Khechiperi Lake is a very important lake for both Buddhists and Hindus. It is said that Khechiperi Lake is so sacred that even if a dry leaf falls into the water of this lake, the birds remove it from the water with their beaks. There is a Khechiperi Buddhist monastery here. Touching the water of the lake, many pray to fulfil their desires. Lots of people come here to fulfil their desires. That is why it is called the lake of wish fulfilment. Lots of big fish can be seen in the lake water. You can buy soya chunks outside to feed them. You can avail at the cost of Rs. 30/- and 50/-
I would like to suggest buying and feed the lake fish, it will be great to watch!
A short trek of 10 to 12 minutes from the entrance of the lake to the lake will take you to Khechiperi Lake (খেচিপেরি লেক, পেলিং). A beautiful path through the jungle. Reach Khechiperi Lake to enjoy the beautiful scenery around. There are various stories and beliefs surrounding this Khechiperi Lake. Hindus believe that Mahadev himself resides in this lake so it is a lake of wish fulfilment. And the lake is made in the footprints of Mahadev. Again, the Buddhists think that this lake is the paradise of the Buddhist guru Padmasambhava and this lake is made from the footprints of Taradevi.
If you want to see Khecheperi Lake in the form of footprints, you have to take a short trek of 20 minutes to reach Kheriperi Lake Viewpoint. Parijat and I, my son completed this trek and reached Viewpoint. To see those experiences, you must see the entire blog. If you have 4 to 5 hours then you can trek further to the temple of Tara Devi. From there, the lake looks as clear as a complete footprint.
