This hike takes us into a southern Ontario, Canada mixed forest in early May to explain in simple terms the basics of wildflower identification of some common Spring wildflowers.
I'll show you how to visually identify a plant's 3 basic classifications, making field identification organized and greatly simplified, which is a method that can be used universally in wildflower identification in the field.
Having a basic understanding and appreciation of the amazing variety of native plants in the wild makes a walk in the woods incredibly rewarding.
Note that the wildflower field guide book used in this vlog is specific to north-eastern and north-central North America. There are countless great wildflower field guides available, and you will need a field guide specific to your geographic area. The format may be different, but the basics of field identification are the same.
