Tenor Choir Practice: “Kyrie” , KV 337 -1, from Mozart’s “Missa Solemnis in C major Also known as "Missa aulica" , the mass was composed in 1780, for the Easter High Mass in the Salzburg Cathedral.
The Kyrie begins forte with a gripping short orchestral prelude and develops quickly into a graceful and solemn work for full choir. Mozart uses dynamic contrasts throughout the Kyrie such as —loud on Kyrie or Christe, soft on eleison.
