It was wonderful to try the winning pizza at the World Championship of 2006.

The world champion pizza maker has a restaurant in Lerici! Lerici is in the province of La Spezia, in Liguria, north west Italy.

La Gerla restaurant has a great selection of pizzas. Not only do they offer the world championship winning pizza, but they also have on the menu other pizzas from various national and international championships.

I loved this pizza!

It was a very special pizza, with the following ingredients:

- Saffron Velouté
- Mozzarella
- Slices of small Tomatoes
- Prawns from the Gulf of Poets wrapped in Lardo di Colonnata
- Chives and slivers of Chilli Peppers
