Reinforce concepts learned in science class and observe the properties of solids, liquids and gases. Solids have a definite shape and volume and are not easily compressible. Liquids have no definite shape, a definite volume, are note easily compressible and can flow. Gases have no definite shape or volume, are easily compressible, and can flow.
This video demonstrates that solids hold their shape and also have a definite volume. When compressed, solids also do not have a tendency to change their shape.
Liquids change their shape when poured into a different container, but the volume remains constant. When compressed in a syringe, the liquid does not change its volume, and therefore is not easily compressible. Liquids are also able to flow.
Gases have no definite shape or volume since they expand and fill their container. When compressed, gases are able to change their volume.
Use this video to teach or reinforce the properties of solids, liquids and gases.
