A New Mexico man has died after contracting the Bubonic plague. This is the first death from the plague in new Mexico since 2020. Officials say this is a clear reminder of the threat posed by this ancient diseases. The US Department of health is contacting residents in the area and assessing to determine whether there is any ongoing risk to the public.
