Today on our 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport, we're going to be test-fitting the Swagman Upright. This is frame-clamp style roof bike rack. Part number is S64720. We've got the Rhino Rack Vortech Arrow roof rack system installed on our Santa Fe. We're going to begin our test-fit by placing the bike rack directly up on to our load bars. At the front we're going to take a metal U-bolt. We'll bring around the underside of the bars and fit it up through the head of the carrier and then take two of our wing nuts.
We'll fret them on loosely for now just to hold our U-bolt in place. We'll then take our second U-bolt along with two more wing nuts and we'll put them on this other side here at the head. We'll then tighten down all four of the wing nuts here to secure the front of the rack. All right with our front secure, we can now move to the rear. The rear's a little different. This time we're going to take one of the U-bolts and we're going to place it down through our rack.
We'll of course want to make sure that we have a threaded portion in front and a threaded portion behind. We're then going to take our black metal plate. We'll want the curved portion to be pointed downward. The flat portion's going to go right up to the bottom of our bar. We'll place that on.
I found it's easier to just use your middle or ring finger and your thumb and squeeze that together. That'll allow us to apply our wing nut. One in the front, one on the rear. We'll then tighten both of these down. With our front and rear secure, we're ready to load up our bike. We'll undo our wheel straps here and then we'll loosen our center frame clamp.
With that loosened up we can now grab our bike. We're going to place our bike directly onto our bike rack and we're going to use that center frame clamp to secure it first. Very simple to do this. We'll simply just lift up on the clamp arm until it engages the frame of our bike. We can then tighten down our black knob. With the frame clamp nice and secure, we can move the each wheel where we'll secure them with the straps. Just like that we're ready to head down the road. We're going to take it our on our test course to let you see what it looks like going through the slalom, the alternating bumps and the straight bumps. That'll complete today's test of the Swagman Upright, part #S64720 on our 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport. .
