See the beautiful Crescent Falls frozen and covered in ice! The hike to see this world renown set of falls is simply exquisite in winter!
We journeyed out to Crescent Falls Alberta for some winter hiking and it was well worth it! We had the entire falls to ourselves, not a tourist in sight (except for us). The waterfalls were covered in ice with water still flowing beneath. If you go to Crescent Falls in winter make sure to bring crampons so you can easily walk on the ice without slipping.
Crescent Falls Directions:
If you’re coming from Edmonton, take Highway 11 West from Rocky Mountain House, through Nordegg until you get to Abraham Lake. If you’re coming from Calgary it’s faster to drive through Banff National Park until you get to Highway 11. It's a 3.5hr drive from Edmonton and a 4hr drive from Calgary. Crescent Falls is located 3kms off the David Thompson Highway (Highway 11) at the end of Crescent Falls Campground road.
