To a Wreath of Snow by Emily Brontë.
This poem was written by one of Emily Brontë’s characters called Augustus Geraldine Almeda from the fictional world of Gondal. Gondol is thought to have been created by Emily and her sister Anne, as an imaginative escape from Anne’s terminal illness. And so, another way to think about this poem is as imaginative act that takes Emily out of her prison. Is the boundary of the page is really the end of her escape?
