Off to South Dakota in the RV to explore the state. The Badlands National Park was the major stop in the game plan and the family was not disappointed. It was otherworldly, to say the least. Definitely take some water, because even the shortest hike can sap the water from you. Being able to walk around and do the shorter paths with the kids was awesome. They really got to experience what makes The Badlands truly magical. Great views can be seen from boardwalks in case you don't want to trek too far, but the ope-hike policy has endless opportunities for those able to take advantage of it. It is so worth taking the kids to see some of the great parts of America and teach them the same lessons they would learn in class, but a little better scenery.
