Farmers are threatening to halt the use of sewage sludge on their land in protest against a proposed 20% inheritance tax on estates over £1 million.
A "sewage strike" would disrupt waste management for water companies, which rely on farmers to spread 3.6 million tonnes of treated sludge yearly.
Farmers argue the tax could drive many out of business and worsen mental health issues within the industry.
