One common question that I often get asked is whether to leave a saree open or pleat it up. Well, personally, I believe that if the Palla (the loose end of the saree) has beautiful embroidery or any kind of craft that deserves to be highlighted, it should be left loose and flaunted. It adds a touch of elegance and allows the craftsmanship to shine.

However, there are situations where you might need to pleat up the Palla. For example, if you have a lot of work to do and need to keep it out of the way. In such cases, pleating it up can be more practical.

But overall, I feel that to truly appreciate and do justice to the artist’s craftsmanship, we should leave the Palla open. It allows us to experience the magical flow and movement of the fabric, creating a sense of grace and beauty. So, if you have the opportunity, embrace the loose Palla and enjoy the enchanting allure of the saree.
