What caught my attention? Both 4(d) and (9) in AHA guidelines begin with IF:
Point 2: Eat plenty of FRUITS & VEGETABLES, choose a wide variety.
Point 3: Choose foods made mostly from WHOLE GRAINS rather than refined grains.
Point 4: Choose healthy sources of protein:
Point 4(a): MOSTLY PROTEIN FROM PLANTS (legumes and nuts)
...
Point 4(d): IF MEAT AND POULTRY ARE DESIRED, choose lean cuts and avoid processed forms.
...
Point (9) If you do not drink alcohol, do not start; IF YOU CHOOSE TO DRINK ALCOHOL, limit intake.
