Soprano Choir Practice: “All We Like Sheep,Have Gone Astray”, from Handel’s “Messiah” Part 2. The chorus depicts mankind as wayward sheep having gone astray, chasing their own pointless desires. The wayward sheep are depicted as if wandering away from home and each other, and finally chasing each other in total confusion. This leads to the dramatic tempo change with the words “And the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.” .
