BIAS FX 2 VS REAL AMP
WHICH TONE DO YOU PREFER?
SAMPLE 1 WAS THE BIAS FX 2, SAMPLE 2 WAS THE REAL MARSHALL AMP.
I was just testing my home studio set up, but then I thought it would be interesting to upload a short video of the two different tones. My intention was not to match the exact Marshall tone - I just tried to get the best tone out of the Marshall amp simulations in Bias Fx 2 and then I recorded my real marshall to compare it.
My impression is that the sample you listen to first sounds better. If you listen to the real amp first it will sound better and vice versa. But there is something about the real amp that the simulation cannot recreate, do you agree?
For the recording I used my Marshall JCM 2000 DSL 50 head and Marshall 1936V cab.
In Bias FX 2 I used Marshall JCM 800 and Marshall JTM45 panned left and right.
I used Samson C03 condenser mic and Focusrite Saffire Pro 40 interface to record the amp.
Guitar I play in this vid is Tanglewood TSB-94.
