Climbing the over 400 steps to the top of the Florence Dome and Bell Tower is pretty challenging! Even though this structure is over 700 years old, for some reason, we still trust it 😂 Today we’re going to be climbing 463 steps to the top of the Florence dome and 414 steps to the top of the bell tower, plus, there is bonus footage of what didn’t make the cut in the full episode on our main channel! Located within the historic center of the city and dominating the Florentine skyline stands the most recognizable and significant structure in Florence, ‘Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore’, the Duomo. With a construction that spanned centuries, this cathedral still holds the title of the largest masonry dome ever built.

Beyond the cathedral, Piazza del Duomo is home to 5 monuments that make its square one of the most fascinating sites in Italy. The Brunelleschi Pass allows you to explore all 5 of the monuments of Piazza del Duomo for €30 per person: the Baptistery of San Giovanni, Giotto's Bell Tower, Brunelleschi's Dome, the Opera del Duomo Museum, and the ancient basilica of Santa Reparata!
