Civil Society Group, Angaza movement says divisions among IEBC Commissioners, the loss of lives that included the murder of Embakasi east returning officer Daniel Musyoka, failure of KIEMS kits and incomplete announcement of election results by IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati, were some of the shortcomings in the 9th august general elections. Another observer group center for Diaspora affairs has also faulted the IEBC chairman for what they termed as his move to declare the winner without the consent of all the commissioners present at the national tallying centre.
