A Metropolitan Police officer has been fired after a misconduct panel determined he assaulted a 12-year-old girl by "spanking her bare bottom multiple times."
The hearing revealed that Ross Benson was accused of hitting the girl from April to August 2018, according to the Met.
The police stated that the child was known to him and that the spanking had a sexual aspect, occurring while he was off duty.
After the disciplinary hearing, Mr. Benson was dismissed immediately and added to the barred list maintained by the College of Policing.
