Mega Man Anniversary Collection was an ambitious collection made in 2004 that the Legacy Collection could've taken notes from. It localized the PS1 remasters called "The Complete Works," which stripped down and rebuilt the six NES games to include things such as weapon hotswapping/quick switching, glitch fixes, removing sprite flickering, and much more. The Anniversary Collection also had Mega Man 7 & 8, as well as the two arcade games.
This video goes over all these features, and explains some things not known by the general fanbase, where old reviews misinformed them about. We'll be exploring exactly what makes this collection good for its time, where it falls short compared to modern re-releases, and a special treat at the end of the video: how to make the best version of the collection (PS2) more playable via emulation. We'll be seeing today if this collection is still worth playing in 2023.
