The Audemars Piguet Millenary 4101 is a stainless steel, modern proportion and face representing the Millenary line. This larger, 47mm & 2011 introduction of the inside out caliber rocketed this model to the top of Audemars Piguet collections. The 47mm measurement is measured across the case from 9 o'clock to 3 o'clock. The watch is only 13mm thick and from lug to lug the watch is 49.5mm.
The watch is both casual and sporty. It sits on a substantial alligator leather strap with conforming spring bars. However, even with these spring bars, the strap is not pinned to the case allowing to to be flexible around a smaller wrist. Finishing off the strap is an AP logo single fold deployant.
The watch is broad and beautifully finished and has a strong, modular look. Each individual line stands out on its own.
All of the action is seen on the dial. The watch is effectively an inside out watch. You can see the beat of the escapement and the inner workings of the watch. You'll also see the oscillations of the balance. While it has a display caseback, you don't really need it as you can see everything through the front. The dial is separate from the second sub dial, the plates, bridge and balance and even plate and screws, showing off the impressive design of the model.
