The 2024 Tesla Model 3 Performance is redefining the performance car. For a touch over $80,000 plus on-road costs, the fully electric mid-size sedan is unlike any other before it, offering a 0-100km/h acceleration time of about three seconds. As such, it offers a turn of speed that's greater than the new BMW M3 Competition xDrive and Mercedes-AMG C63 S E Performance sedans, both of which are twice the price.
But, of course, there's more to the facelifted Model 3 Performance's story than its straight-line performance, as Tesla has also gone to great lengths to make sure it's a more than capable handler this time around, too, with the new inclusions including adaptive suspension and proper front sports seats.
In this expert review, CarsGuide Senior Journalist Tom White puts the new Model 3 Performance through its paces for the first time on Australian roads, looking to find out if it's better than its internal-combustion rivals in more than the two aforementioned areas.
