This year to celebrate Earth Day, our team of volunteers participated in the Trees For Trash program put together by Plastic Ocean Project. For every 25 pounds of trash picked up, such as during our clean up of Highway 421, a new tree would be planted. On forsaken soil, we planted 100 trees at the New Hanover County Landfill right on top of the former piles of trash from Hurricane Fran.
